Most of us have experienced low back pain during our life. This 12-week class series is based on the protocol used in the article published in the Annals of Internal Medicine, “Comparing Yoga, Exercise, and a Self-Care Book for Chronic Low Back Pain”. Results indicated that Yoga is a successful strategy in the relief of chronic low back Pain.
This 12-week Yoga for Chronic Low Back Pain series is taught in two locations as indicated above. Registration information is at the bottom of this page.
Each week a different topic relevant to posture, ergonomics and other helpful information is introduced to further the learning experience on how yoga can help to:
- improve postural alignment
- strengthen muscles that support the back
- release tight muscles
- bring more awareness to how we use our bodies to reinforce patterns that no longer serve us
- move in the direction of creating patterns of movement that do serve us
The yoga practices are in a written format and are available for you to take home and practice on your own.
All levels welcome.
