Developing A Personal Yoga Practice: Creating a Home PracticeDates for 2009/2010 to be announced This is a three-part workshop with four private sessions. Part One: We meet as a group for a session to introduce you to some of the general principles and tools of Viniyoga including postures/āsanas, breathing techniques/prāņāyāma, sound, meditation and rest; share individual needs and discuss strategies to creating a personal practice(s). Time, place, space seasonal changes and motivational tips are discussed. Part Two: Four private sessions with Susan provide the opportunity to work one-on-one with a yoga teacher/educator and yoga therapist to help design one or more yoga practices adapted to meet your specific conditions. The main premise is that your yoga practice supports your ongoing needs. Four private sessions allows for refining the sequence(s) as the depth and breadth of your practice develops. Part Three: The group meets for feedback to share, discuss and integrate the experience of the first session and the individual attention and specific guidance from the private sessions. We discuss obstacles and motivations. This is voluntary especially if timing does not fit your schedule; however, past participants who did attend reported that part three was valuable to discuss shared experiences as well as tips to maintain motivation. Parts Two and Three are ideally scheduled at the first session so remember to bring your calendar, and please bring a yoga mat if you have one (a small number will be provided). Part One only: $60.00 To register, contact: Susan Krantz |
